Lights, Camera and Action

When Joseph Nicephore Niece took the first photo in 1814 it was not on a state of the art Canon SLR, it was in fact one of the first cameras that could actually could take a photo, be it not a very good quality but the invention has lead to more research and development and these days there are more camera options out there than ever before.

But it is not just photography that evolved, video/film has also taken centre stage and what can be seen is that a few creative property professionals have taken the technology that is available and are putting their properties in the spotlight – where they should be.

The team however do find from time to time that there is resistance from estate agents and property developers to take more videos of more properties due to the fact that the there is a cost involved.

The power of video should not be underestimated. There is a reason why Hollywood has also evolved and more blockbusters are gracing cinema screens then ever before and that is due to the fact that we live in a world where our world is about visual stimulation and why is this any different for property.

As a vendor, you want your agent who is representing you and your property to showcase the property to the best of its ability and with the volume of properties live on portals such as RightMove and Zoopla you need to stand out and with the prices the portals charge it is hard to buy “products” like feature properties to make a property stand out thus video gives it that extra edge. Tell a potential client a story, a story with gorgeous footage, showcase the floorplans and introduce the audience to your area.

Here are two gorgeous developments who have both seen a 177% increase in web traffic due to the fact that they had videos live for buyers to watch and if all the units have sold and you spent just under £500 for a video at 1% commission your ROI will make the spend worth it.
